My Boys...

One of my favorite things to do is to watch David and Caden interact. They have so much fun together. David has this amazing way of always getting Caden to laugh uncontrollably. They are so cute together! I am so glad that David's job allows him to be home with our son as much as it does! They have such a sweet relationship, which is so important!

Coming home on the ferry (late) from a Sounders game last fall! He was wide awake!

Snowed In at 10 Months

Today Caden turns 10 months old! We can't believe it! What a way to celebrate by playing in the snow! All but one Western Washington school district closed for the day and everyone made it outside to play! It was so much fun! School is already closed for tomorrow! More playing for us!
Our first snow on Monday

The big snow today! Probably 4-5 inches by the time it was done snowing!

"Le't me out!"

Caden thought Sophie was so funny!

Happy 5th Anniversary

I can't believe it has been five years! I remember the day we met in the parking lot of Third Place Books! We had the best date I'd ever had. I knew after just a few hours that David was someone that I could spend my life with! At the end of our date, we drove down to Alki Beach to spend the rest of our evening. David excused himself and went to his car. When he pulled out a cooler of pink lemonade, I knew he was a keeper!  We both feel so lucky to have found each other and now we have an amazingly beautiful family. We are so blessed.
For our fifth anniversary, David and I decided to get away. This was one of the reasons we decided to get married in the winter. We both love snow and snow sports. What a great reason to get away and play in the snow!

We headed to Lake Wenatchee, right outside of Leavenworth. It was beautiful! We rented a cabin, which came with about 12 inches of snow! The whole family came-David, myself, Caden and Sophie. We loved every minute of it! We spent some time in the town of Leavenworth but a lot of time just relaxing around the cabin and playing in the snow! Sophie was in heaven! She was begging us to go outside every chance she got! We went on a great hike in the snow, where I thought we might be eaten by a snow cat of some kind...thankfully we made it back!

We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Mountain Springs Lodge. We actually thought we would get married there, but decided that having all of our loved ones attend was more important than a far away destination with tough driving conditions. We have visited many times since, snowmobiling and going on sleigh rides, but we just had dinner this trip. It was fabulous and Caden did great! He was very well behaved and enjoyed his dinner too!
We settled right in to our little cabin

The next morning, Caden touched snow for the first time!

Sophie LOVED it!

Off on our fantastic hike!

Sophie could run free and scare off all of the snow cats!

He thought it was so funny to look for David over my shoulder!

Happy Anniversary!

Sophie was pooped by the last day!

Christmas With The Baileys

In the Baily family, we are very lucky! We get to celebrate Christmas for a week! With everyone's crazy schedules, we have to find a date that works for everyone to gather for The Bailey Family Christmas. With everyone living so spread out, it is best if we find a time that allows everyone to stay the night and then we celebrate the following morning...Great fun!

This year we decided to spend it at the Baily B&B-AKA David's parent's house! We love it up there because they live on a farm. Caden got to spend time with Great Grandpa and all the rest of the Bailey family. We had a great time!

Hangin with Grandpa

"I think I can, I think I can!"...he is still thinking about it!

Trying his first banana...We don't think he really likes bananas. He always makes a sour face!

Grandpa built a snazzy manger...all they needed was a baby?

Hmmm...he does look pretty cute!

Grandpa and Grandma gave him his first bike!

He had to show Great Grandpa Bailey

Caden Turns 9 Months

Wow! We can't believe he is already 9 months old. This year has gone by so fast. As we recount the adventures we have had this year, becoming a little family has been our favorite! Here's to an even more exciting 2012!

Here are his stats:
Height: 29in
Weight:20lb 1oz
Head: 46.5cm

He was such a good boy at the doctors today and so smiley! I think it was because he didn't have to get any shots! At least mom was smiling for that reason!

Christmas With Daddy

We are very lucky that we have so many families to share our lives with. This year David's shift was assigned to work on Christmas Eve and Day...That's just the way the cookie crumbled. Thankfully they decided to split it up this year so that they could have at least have the Eve off, which is posted below!

So...off we went to share in Christmas day with David at the fire station. My fingers were crossed that we would actually get to eat together this year. There was one year that the tones went off right as we were pulling dinner out of the oven and off they went...to a HUGE fire that lasted through the night (until 4am!). So, the wives played games, ate a great Christmas dinner, hung out, wrapped up the food and went home for the night. This year was a little different. David was gone when we arrived at the station this evening on a transport to the "local" hospital (thank goodness it wasn't a ferry ride to Seattle!). Soon after we arrived, there was another call and off the rest of them went! It was just Caden and I...all alone...

About an hour later, they started to show back up and around 6:20 David arrived. We were able to make a great dinner (any dinner at the station is amazing!) and actually eat all together. Caden and I were the only family that could make it this year, but that is okay. It still felt like a family dinner. I love the feeling of brotherhood that is shared amongst the guys. It is very comforting to know that when David can't be with his wife and son, he is still with family.

So, we waited...and waited...

Finally! Daddy came back!

We played and made silly faces

Wow! Check out that tongue!
