Hanging out With Grandpa Dick

Grandpa Dick came over on his day off to spend time with Caden and I. We always have such a great time!

Go Sounders!!

So...if you remember Waaayyyy back to early March, I took Caden to his first Sounders game...well, sort of! Well, Saturday was officially his first game! We packed him up in his Ergo and off we went! We prayed for decent weather, but should have known better! It started raining just about 10 minutes before half time. Thankfully our handy carrier has a hood for Caden to protect him from the rain. We spent half time inside roaming the Team Shop and then we were back out there rooting for the Sounders! As it started raining harder, Caden and I decided to spend some time back inside in an attempt to dry off some. We came back out just in time to see the Sounders score in overtime!! It was awesome...all except the super loud booms!! I was a little paranoid about the loud noises! All in all, we had a great time and can't wait until our next game!

All three of us dressed up for the occasion and were ready to cheer on our Seattle Sounders!

Resting up before the game

He slept through most of the game...even the BIG booms!

Caden goes Camping: Take 2

Last Friday, we made our way to Monroe for a short camping trip with Grandpa Ron, Grandma Kathy, Uncle Mike, Aunt Stephanie and cousins Jake, Sarah, Claire, and Madelyn. Jake had a baseball game in Carnation, so we wanted to make a trip out of it! We had a great time and even some nice weather! I think it was high 60's low 70's on Friday!

We slept in Ron and Kathy's trailer (And they even knew what they might be getting in to!). I think we had the gamut of problems happen! It all started out so great! Caden woke up around 2:15, as usual, with just a few grunts, no cries and I nursed him. As we started to change him...well...this is where it all started going down hill! He tinkled all over himself AND his swaddle blankets!! Thankfully we had some extra! Then he was WIDE awake at 2:30am. It took me about an hour and a half to put him back down. When he woke up for his next feeding, he had peed out of his diaper and it went through to his swaddle blankets again! So...we changed him and thankfully had one more swaddle blanket to wrap him in! Then...we noticed that his little sheet was wet in his little co-sleeper! That we did not have an extra of! So...we made due with what we had and he woke up peacefully at 8am to show Grandma how he does his morning stretches.

It was a great intro for how we need to pack for our next camping trip!

Two Months and Counting!

May 18  marked the second month of Caden John's life. We took him in for his 2 month appointment and he weighed 10lb 15oz and was 22 in long! We can't believe how fast he is growing! He is such a big boy! I have been slowly packing up his newborn clothes, which is a little tough for me! Time is just zipping by too fast!
David and I both can't imagine our lives without him in it! It is amazing how such a sweet little person can come to steal your heart instantly. We love him so much and can't wait to spend every moment watching him grow!

Just So Cute!

Caden has been working hard to build up his neck muscles by lifting his sweet little head. Today we tried using the boppy to help. He seems to enjoy this more than laying on the floor for "tummy time". I tried to get a pic of him looking at me because it was SO cute. The look in his eyes was  the best! He looked so surprised that he was actually doing it! I love it! Next time I will grab the camera faster!

Caden Goes Camping...

This last Thursday through Saturday, we decided to venture out on our first camping trip with Caden! The weather was forecast to be mid 60's, which is great for Washington, as you know! We packed up the trailer and off we went!

We found an RV park just above Lake Southerland, where our friends were staying in a rented lake house. Thursday turned out to be super sunny in Poulsbo, but super rainy in the Olympics. Thankfully we were able to set up camp before the rain really started. We spent our first day inside the trailer, with a short drive over to Lake Crescent for a peek at another fun campground. Caden slept VERY well his first night camping!

Day two started with SUN!! It was great! We met up with our friends and decided to go for a hike to Marymere Falls. It was a beautiful hike filled with mossy trees and lots of pictures! After the hike, we spent the evening at the lake house playing cards and Mexican Train till Dave and I were spent (which was 10pm, I think!)! Caden threw in the towel long before we did! He slept even better this night! He had a 4.5 hour stretch, which is his record!

All in all, we had a wonderful first camping trip with Caden. We discovered that our trailer is now much fuller with a third person and all of his stuff. We are already planning our next camping trip this week!

I always told my friends that I would only marry a man who would wear a baby carrier! So cute!

Caden's First Mother's Day

Caden picked out some good gifts for his Mommy! I think maybe he'll have to get a little older before he helps with the wrapping though.  His participation was... limited.

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was Amanda's first Mother's Day. It was a special day that started off just right! Both of our parents came over last night because we decided to dedicate Caden to the Lord at church this morning. We started out with a great breakfast, exchanged Mother's Day gifts and then we were of to church!

After church we had everyone (well, almost everyone...we missed auntie Lynnsey and uncle Mike!) over for a BBQ and a grand celebration for all of the mothers. It is always fun to get all of Caden's cousins together in one place. Soon he will be chasing them around and playing hide and go seek with them.

It was a wonderful day full of faith, fun and family! Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Happy Mother's Day Mommy!

We had Caden dedicated at church this morning

"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." (Numbers 6:24-26)

"Am I stuck in here all day, mom....dad....anyone!?"

Good old fashion Hide-n-Go-Seek

"Hurry and hide, Alex!"
