Fun In The Sun...Finally!

Well, this summer is proving to be a typical Seattle summer so far! Rain, clouds, peek-a-boos of sun, a high of 65...if we are lucky! Well, not today, folks! Today was around 70 degrees and just perfect! Caden and I headed over to our friends house in Suquamish for a day at the beach! It was such a great time, and perfect prfactice for our trip to Maui in a few days!

Caden seemed to love the sand, after he got used to it sticking to everything! He loved digging, the buckets and especially sharing snacks with Benton! We did venture down to the water-Caden has made it very clear that he does NOT love cold water! He kept a safe distance but when he bent over to pick up some rocks, he took a total nose dive right into the wet sand. When he popped back up, screaming,  he had a face full of sand and shell pieces! It was pretty funny, but he didn't find the humor in it! I wiped him up and kept on playing! In fact, he loved playing so much that we came home and took out our water table and kept on playing! What a fun sunny day! Can't wait till the next one!

15 Months!

Wow! Where has the time gone? I feel like I say that a lot lately, but it feels true. Caden has been making us smile for 15 whole months now. He is better than ever, too! Each new day, I think I tell myself, "This is my new favorite Caden!". He grows and changes every day and his personality is coming out left and right! He thinks it is hilarious to offer us food (which was so cute about 6 months ago!) and then snatch it back and shove it into his mouth, with a huge smile, none the less! It does make us laugh! He reads like a maniac! or at least likes to pretend that he does! He loves to lay around and look at books, flip pages, point to pictures, jabber, and then flip the page! I hope his loves for books sticks around! He also loves to fall into Sophie's bed. He will walk over and just fall right onto it, dig his face into the cushion and laugh! He is a climber! He loves to climb on anything, even over us to get onto something higher! Soccer is probably one of his favorite activities, as you can see. David likes to watch the Sounders games with him. He points up at the TV and grunts non-stop! Hilarious! We are so delighted to see how his relationship with Sophie has grown and developed. They LOVE each other! He loves to pet/pat her and climb all over her. She loves to give him her toys hoping that he will hang on for a game of tug-a-war!...and he usually does! He has started imitating silly things we do like snoring, shaking his head "no", tickling, fake coughing, fake laugh, etc! Cracks us up. Two of our new favorites are when he raises his hands up and shrugs his shoulders when he doesn't know what is happening or why something is happening and he just started hugging! He loves to give a hug and pat you on the back! So delicious! We just love him! His biggest accomplishment has been learning to walk! It took a while, but he is off! He is so proud of himself! He comes running toward  you with a huge smile! We are so in love with him!

This summer is full of fun trips again! We are off to Maui with my family for two whole weeks! Stay tuned for some fun (and sandy) pictures!
